From Manchester, UK, to Cairo, Egypt and back.
A challenge for most motorcycles, but on an antiquated 1952 BSA Bantam...?

Overland To Egypt: The Book

Following on from his 2008 classic motorcycling adventure, Overland To India on a 1953 500cc Royal Enfield, author Gordon G. May rode a 1952 BSA Bantam called Peggy from the UK to Egypt and back.

Gordon’s first attempt at the ride, which took him across the Swiss Alps, ended prematurely in north eastern Italy due to an engine failure. Next time around, crossing through Tunisia and Libya, the ride was a success and after many challenges, Gordon and Peggy jubilantly made it to The Pyramids in Cairo. See the Overland To Egypt book page for more information on the journey.
